본 연구의 목적은 지리적 사고력을 함양하는 프로그램을 개발하여 그 효과를 검증하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 프로그램 개발을 위해 체제적 교수설계 모형을 적용하며, 교수·학습 내용은 의외성을 발현할 수 있는 지리적 사상을 활용한다. 즉, 원인은 같지만 결과가 다른 또는 결과는 같지만 원인이 다른 지리적 인과관계를 내포하는 지리적 사상을 수업의 제재로 활용한다. 또한 본 연구에서 개발한 프로그램을 학습자를 대상으로 적용해 그 효과를 통계적으로 검증한다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지리적 사고력 함양 프로그램을 활용하면 지리적 사고력을 전체적으로 함양할 수 있다. 둘째, 지리적 사고력 함양 프로그램을 활용하면 일반적인 교과서 수업보다 지역적 사고와 관련한 학습에서 뛰어난 성취결과를 기대할 수 있다. 셋째, 지리적 사고력 함양 프로그램을 활용하면 학생들의 서술형 답안이 고차적인 지리적 사고력을 바탕으로 작성되고, 일반적 수업과 비교해 지리적 사고력의 수준이 향상될 수 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop the program that fosters geographical thinking skills and verify its effectiveness. In this study, the systematic instructional design model is applied for program development and geographical ideas that can express unexpectedness are used for teaching and learning contents. In other words, geographical ideas that imply geographical causal relationships with the same cause but different results or the same result but different causes are used as contents for classes. In addition, the program developed in this study is applied to learners to statistically test their effects. The results of this study are as follows. Firstly geographical thinking skills can be cultivated as a whole by using the program. Secondly excellent achievement results can be expected in learning related to regional thinking rather than general textbook classes by using the program. Third, students' descriptive answers can be written based on higher geographical thinking skills, and the level of geographical thinking ability can be improved compared to general classes by using the program.
