Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of climate change education programs using board game production on environmental sensitivity and self-efficacy of elementary school students. This study was conducted on 23 sixth-grade elementary school students, and the results of pre- and post-test on environmental sensitivity and self-efficacy were analyzed. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of climate change education programs using board game production on environmental sensitivity and self-efficacy of elementary school students. The results of this study were as follows. First, the climate change education program using board game production had a positive effect on improving the environmental sensitivity of elementary school students. After the application of the program, environmental sensitivity improved, and significant changes were found in all sub-areas such as sensitivity, aesthetics and emotional stability, and sympathy and compassion. Second, the climate change education program using board game production had a positive effect on improving the self-efficacy of elementary school students. After applying the program, students' self-efficacy improved, and significant changes were found in all sub-areas such as confidence, self-regulation efficacy, and task difficulty preference. Third, Elementary school students showed very high interest and participation in classes in climate change education programs using board game production. Rather than passive learning to simply accept the content of climate change, it seems that they have experienced the pleasure of directly investigating and exploring climate change and learning during activities. In conclusion, it is judged that the climate change education program using board game production had a positive effect on the environmental sensitivity and self-efficacy of elementary school students.
