이론 내적인 형식적 타당성과 음운 현상의 실제

초록

이론은 현상을 해석하는 도구이지 목적일 수는 없다. 그러나 도구가 적절할 때 현상을 올바르게 파악할 수 있다는 점에서 이론의 중요성이 결코 간과될 수 없다. 하지만 이론 자체의 논리에 빠져 현상을 이론에끼워 맞춰 해석하는 태도는 현상의 본질을 왜곡할 수 있다는 점에서 지양해야 한다. 이러한 관점에서 본고는 생성음운론의 문제와 한계를 짚어봄으로써 국어 음운론 연구의 방향성을 성찰해 보고자 하는 것이다. 여기서는 크게 세 가지 문제에 대해 살펴보았다. 첫째, 규칙의 타당성이 음운 현상의 실제를 반영하는가 하는 문제, 둘째, 중간 도출형의 정체성에 대한문제, 셋째, 복수기저형의 문제이다.

Abstract

A theory is just one of the tool interpreting linguistic phenomena. A theory cannot be a purpose itself. But a theory is very important because we will only comprehend rightly characteristics of phenomena if a tool is proper. But also we must be sublate an attitude that interpret phenomena falling into formal logic of theory. Because that is able to distort a nature of phenomena. In this view, I pointed problems and limits of the generative phonology and I will find an better direction of research. In this thesis, I considered three subjects. That is firstly a problem that a veridity of rule is able to guarantee to respects a nature of phonological phenomena, secondly a problem abut an identity of interim derivational forms, thirdly a problem of setting the plural underlying form.
