As the policy of reform and opening up, Foreign Direct Investment(FDI) in China has reached significant achievements. In particular, FDI in China has reached significant achievements in regional economic growth. This paper, taking Shaanxi province, with the data from 1985 to 2013, adopts regression models to conduct an empirical research on the influence of FDI on the regional economic growth of Shaanxi province in China. The regression model include two dependent variable and four independent variables. The dependent variables are the per capita GDP and the gross industrial output value. The independent variables are the fixed asset investment, employed person, FDI, and the SHARE. The coefficient of the FDI indicate the direct effect to the regional economic growth, and the coefficient of the SHARE indicate the indirect effect. Regression results show that: First, FDI has a significant role in promoting regional economic growth of Shaanxi province. Second, FDI has a significant role in not only the direct effect but also the indirect effect to the regional economic growth of Shaanxi province. Third, the domestic investments more affect than FDI to the regional economic growth of Shaanxi province. Fourth, there is lower significance to the industrial growth. Finally, this paper suggests that Shaanxi province have to consider to higher the effect of FDI to the industrial growth.
