초록
A Chinese traditional Won-Lim is a whole entity to understand the unique oriental sentiments and techniques of space culture, and has been developed in various approaches on scenery. Scenery is the key to describing the Chinese traditional Won-Lim as a standard to evaluate the level and class of the gardens. In South Korea, however, it has been dominant to focus on the landscape elements, mainly borrowed scenery, to understand the Chinese traditional Won-Lim. Since this approach failed to meet the comprehensive and overall approach on the Chinese traditional Won-Lim, this study aims to demonstrate the scenic features from the perspectives on the fundamentals that compose the scenery, and improve understanding of the element to overcome the limits and suggest that borrowed scenery is also one of the various ways to form the Won-Lim. In addition, although the overlook objects and places have coexisted as elements of the Chinese gardens, there has been a misinterpretation that these are plant-oriented, as many focused only on the landscape. Therefore, this research aims to break the mold that focused only on the landscape, which is the overlooking object, by verifying the scenic features of building itself, which is the overlooking place. To that end, this study selected the leading Four Won-Lim in Su Zhou (The Surging Waves Pavillion, The Lion Forest Garden, Humble Administrator's Garden, The Lingering Garden), which are evaluated as embodiments of the Chinese traditional Won-Lim. Then, the study identified the scenic features applied to the representative buildings in each garden, and suggested the conclusion based on the category divided by scale, architectural aspect, eye contact direction, and visible aspect. This study has a limit with rooms to improve to complete the objective standard, as it discussed the subject based on the different levels of judgment and understanding on scenery. However, it is expected to use the research result as a basic study to establish a more objective standard in the future upon the perspective that this study used a new approach to the Chinese traditional gardens.
