본 논문은 2010 년부터 2018 년까지 CFPS (China Family Panel Studies) 미시자료를 이용하여 중국 도시 소득 불평등에 대해 분석하였다. 십분위지수(P90 / P10, P90 / P50, P10 / P50)와 지니 계수를 사용하여 소득 불평등 상황을 고찰하고, 지니 계수 분해 방법을 통해 소득항목(임금소득, 사업소득, 재산소득, 이전소득, 기타소득)이 총소득 불평등에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 최근 소득 불평등이 증가하고 있으며, P90/P10 비율은 2010 년 12.1에서 2018 년 20.9로 급격히 상승했으며 상위 20 %와 하위 40 % 사이의 소득 격차도 확대되었다. 도시 가구 1 인당 소득으로 계산한 지니 계수는 2010 년 0.518에서 2018 년 0.521로 증가하였고, 지니 분해 결과는 임금 소득이 전반적인 소득 불평등에 기여하는 가장 중요한 요인으로 나타났다.
Abstract
This paper measures income inequality in urban China by using China Family Panel Studies(CFPS) data 2010-2018 by percentiles(P90/P10，P90/P50 and P10/P50) and Gini Coefficient. It examines income shares and decomposes the Gini coefficient by income sources to understand the determinants of inequality. Income inequality has been rising in recent years. The P90/P10 ratio rose sharply from 12.1 in 2010 to 20.9 in 2018 and the income gap between top 20% and bottom 40% has also widened. The Gini coefficient for the distribution of urban household income per capita increased from 0.511 in 2010 to 0.521 in 2018. The Gini decomposition results show that wage income is the most important factor contributing to overall income inequality.
