최근 세계 경제 불확실성이 높아지고 있다. 러시아 우크라이나 전쟁에 따른 거시 변동도 세계 무역 환경에 영향을 미치고 있다. 이에 따라 한국 기업이 직면한 불확실성이 다방면에서 높아지고 있으며 특히 중국 경제불확실성의 영향은 그 중에서도 가장 중대하다. 하지만 그 중요성에 비해 기존 연구는 매우 부족하다. 특히 국가간 경제 불확실성의 전달을 주제로 한 연구는 드물며 영향의 대상이 기업인 연구도 많지 않다. 특히 중국 경제불확실성의 한국 수출제조기업에의 영향에 대한 연구는 거의 없으며 기업의 수출에의 영향에 대한 연구도 없다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 연구는 한국 기업 중 수출제조기업의 데이터를 활용해서 중국 경제 불확실성의 수출에의 영향, 수출과 연관된 투자에의 영향을 실증 분석하였다.
Abstract
This study empirically investigates the effects of Chinese economic uncertainty on export decisions and investment decisions related to exports by Korean manufacturing exporting firms. The results of the empirical analysis can be summarized as follows. First of all, it was found that China’s economic uncertainty had a significant negative effect on the exports of Korean export manufacturers. This negative effect was moderated by the characteristics of the firms. For firms with free cash flow, the negative effect of Chinese economic uncertainty was attenuated, and in the case of firms with a high debt ratio, this effect was amplified. Next, looking at the empirical results on the investment decisions of Korean export manufacturing firms, it was confirmed that the firm's capital stock and exports had a stable long-term relationship, and the coefficient of the error correction term also showed a significant positive sign. In the case of Korean export manufacturing firms, the effect of export growth on investment growth has a quadratic function relationship with a downward convex, which means that it is reasonable to assume real options and irreversible investment. On the other hand, it was found that there was no moderating effect, that is, the attention effect, that Chinese economic uncertainty has on this influence relationship.
