일본인 대학생 친구 간 대화에 나타난 「さ」의 사용양상

本研究では、日本人の20代の男子大学生の同性の友人間の会話と女子大学生の同性の友人間の会話における「さ」の使用様相を調べた。本研究の結果を簡単にまとめると次の通りである。「さ」は、一般的に男性が主に使っている終助詞として認識されてきたが、実際の会話では、男子大学生の会話に比べて女子学生の会話において、より多くの発話で使用されており、またより高い頻度で使用されていた。この結果は、現代の日本社会では、男性語、女性語の区別がますます弱くなっているという事実を裏付ける一例と見なされることができるだろう。一方、「さ」の談話上の機能は、男子大学生の対話と女子学生の会話で共通して「注意喚起」の使用割合が70％以上で圧倒的に高い割合を占めており、「同意要求」、「発話強化」、「感情表出」の順に使用割合が高かった。ただし、女性大学生の会話に比べて男子大学生の会話において相対的に「発話強化」の割合が高いことは特徴的といえる。
Abstract
In this study, the use and function of 'Sa’ in the conversation between universitystudent friends in Japanese were investigated. The functions of ‘Sa’ in the conversationwere classified into ‘Consent requirement’, ‘Strengthening’, ‘Attention–getting’, ‘Emotionexpression’. The results are summarized as follows. First, it can be seen that 'Sa' is used in a larger number of utterances and isused at a higher rate in female university students' conversation than in maleuniversity students 'conversation. In addition, it was confirmed that in both maleuniversity students 'conversation and female university students' conversation, thereis a common feature that 'Sa' functions mainly as ‘Attention–getting’. However, thereis a slight difference in the usage of function of ‘Sa’ between male and female inthat the ratio of ‘Strengthening’ is relatively higher in male university students'conversation than in female university students' conversation.. However, the resultsof this study can be regarded as an example to support the fact that the distinctionbetween male and female language is gradually weakening in modern Japanese society.
