초록

This study discusses the translatability of culture pedantry involving Malay and Korean translation materials by emphasising the similarities and dissimilarities in context. Translatability scrutinises the form of materials that can be translated when there is an appropriate equivalent or an equivalent close to the original purpose of the source texts. The findings obtained in data gathering were analysed by itemising each respondent's standpoint as well as that of this study. This study demonstrates that respondents contribute to several inconsistent reasons to support their views on the translatability of cultural elements from Korean to Malay. The translation strategy of Korean and Malay ecology culture pedantry depends on the existence of source language culture pedantry in the target language. This study will contribute new knowledge to translators and help the groups involved in translation industry.
