오늘날 가속적 지구화는 그동안 국제질서를 비롯한 기본적인 삶의 질서를 지배해 오던 ‘국민국가’ 틀을 동요시키고 있다. 이러한 현실적 변화들은 사회정의를 실현하기 위한 우리의 노력들과 사회정의에 대한 기존 담론들에 대해서도 역시 새로운 과제들을 제기하고 있는 것으로 보인다. 오늘날 우리에게는 지구화 시대에 부응하는 사회정의의 근본 문법에 대한 새로운 성찰이 요구되고 있다. 이글의 목적은 낸시 프레이저(Nancy Fraser)의 정의론 구상을 중심으로 오늘날 지구화가 사회정의에 대한 기존의 이해에 대해서 제기하고 있는 각종 도전들과 그에 대한 대응의 원칙적 방향을 검토하는 데에 있다. 이를 위해 나는 사회정의의 내용, 당사자, 방법이라는 구별을 중심으로, 지구화 시대에 새롭게 부상하는 도전들과 그에 대한 원칙적 대응 방향들에 관해 프레이저가 전개한 논의를 살펴볼 것이다. 그리고 마지막으로 이러한 논의들을 비판적으로 검토하고 나아가서 이러한 논의들이 오늘 우리에게 실천적으로 함축하는 바가 무엇인지를 밝혀본다.
Abstract
Today the accelerating globalization is shaking the framework of nation state, which has ruled an basic international order. This asks us for thinking a deep grammar of justice in a new way and scale. The aim of this thesis is to examine the various challenges to a theory of justice given by globalization and the principal orientations for coping with them. For this aim, firstly, I examined the various challenges to a theory of justice in the era of globalization and the principal orientations for coping with them, according to the distinction of content of justice(what), subject of justice(who), way of justice(how), which was used by Nancy Fraser. And then I examined Fraser's theory of justice critically and explained the practical implications of this critical examinations.
