교회와 세상의 관계 안에서 본 연대의 신학적 의미:『사목 헌장』의 형성 과정을 중심으로

본 연구는 교회와 세상의 관계 안에서의 연대 개념을 이해하기 위한 것으로서, ‘동감’, ‘타자의 해방을 위한 투신’, ‘타자의 완성을 향한 자유의 선사’를 특징으로 하는 그리스도론적 연대 개념을 전제로,『사목 헌장』의 형성 및 고유의 방법론 선택 과정에 연대 개념이 실제적으로 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는지 고찰하고, 나아가 이러한 연대개념 실현의 메커니즘을『교회 헌장』의 가르침에 근거하여 제안하고자 하였다. 세상 안에서 그리고 세상에 봉사하는 교회를 지향했던 제2차 바티칸 공의회는, 공의회를 진행하는 도중에『사목 헌장』 초안을 준비하였으며, 세상 위에서 군림하면서 가르치는 교회가 아니라 세상과 함께, 세상 안에서, 세상 및 그 실재들의 완성에 기여하는 것으로서의 교회의 역할을 선언하고자 하였다. 이러한 의도에 따라『사목 헌장』은 ‘사목적’ 문헌으로서의 특성을 표방하면서, 문헌의 구성 및 선언 방식에 있어, 세상의 실재로부터 출발하여 그것을 복음의 빛으로 비추고 세상과 그 완성에 교회가 기여할 바를 다루는 귀납적 방법론을 선택하였다. 이 선택 과정에는 창조와 구원, 본성과 은총의 네오스콜라신학적 이분법을 극복하는 작업이 병행하였다. 그러므로 연대 개념은 비록『사목 헌장』에서 명시적으로 드러나지는 않지만 『사목 헌장』의 형성과정 및 방법론 선택을 움직인 원동력이라고 할 수 있다. 나아가 본 연구는 ‘세상을 축성함’을 세상과의 동감뿐 아니라 세상과 그 실재들의 완성에 도달하는 데에까지 작용해야 하는 연대 실현의 메커니즘으로 제안하였다.
Abstract
This study aims to understand the theological concept of solidarity in the relation of the Church to the World. The premise of the study is the Christological concept of solidarity, that is, ‘compassion’, ‘dedication of oneself to the salvation of others’, ‘giving autonomy for the fulfillment of others.’ The paper examines how the concept of solidarity influenced on the genesis and methodological choice of Gaudium et Spes. Vatican Council II, hoping to express the notion of Church as service to the world, prepared the scheme of Gaudium et Spes and proclaimed that the role of the Church is to contribute to the fulfillment of the world and its realities. Wanting to be ‘pastoral’, the document thus chose the inductive method: beginning from the realities in order to propose Christian doctrine. This process was supported by overcoming the Neo–Scholastic dichotomy between Creation and Salvation, so the concept of ‘solidarity’ provided the thrust of the genesis and the methodology of Gaudium et Spes. Finally, the present study proposes ‘consecrate the world’ as a mechanism for the realization of solidarity that works to achieve the fulfillment of realities of the world.
