Abstract
The purpose of this study is to describe implications of Mexican culture in intercultural business communication. Intercultural relations between Korea and Mexico is becoming more and more important since there are hundreds of Korean maquiladora assembly plants along the Mexico-U.S. border. But cultural misunderstandings have long been a stumbling block for doing business in Mexico because of the lack of knowledge of Mexican culture. Taking this problem into consideration, I reviewed existing literatures on business related Mexican culture, based on three cultural analysis models: Hofstede, Trompenaars & Hampden-Turner and Hall. The results suggest that Mexican culture in business communication is characterized by collectivism, high power distance, fatalism, high context communication and concept of polychronic time.
