명말청초 시기 유학의 종교화: 사문천의 사상을 중심으로
The Religionization of Confucianism in the Late Ming and Early Qing Dynasties : Focusing on the Thought of Wenjian Xie

본고는 명말청초 송명유학에서 청대유학으로의 학술적 전환에 있어 명말청초 유자들이 여전히 견지하는 ‘종교적 관심’에 주의를 기울임으로써 명말청초 학술의 연속성을 드러낼 수 있다는 문제의식에서 한 걸음 더 나아가, 유학사상 내에서 촉발된 그들의 종교적 관심이 신앙을 필요로 하는 모종의 종교성으로 심화되기까지 중국 전통의 도불사상 뿐만 아니라 외래 종교인 천주교 또한 중요한 역할을 담당했음에 주목한다. 본고는 이러한 사상적 경향을 사문천(謝文洊, 호 程山, 1616-1682)의 학문과 사상을 대상으로 탐구하고자 하며, 구체적으로 다음의 세 가지 세부 주제―‘천명(天命)과 상제(上帝)’, 「서명(西銘)」, ‘리기(理氣)와 상제(上帝)’를 중심으로 그의 학문과 사상에서 천주교의 영향으로 인해 심화되는 유학사상의 종교성을 살펴보고자 한다.
Abstract
This paper further discusses the ‘religious concern’ that the Confucianists still adhere to in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, in order to reflect the continuity of the academic in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. We have noticed that, from their religious concern triggered by Confucianism to the need for a certain religious belief, not only the traditional Chinese Taoism and Buddhism, but also the Catholicism as a foreign religion also played an important role. This paper will take Wenjian Xie’s academic and thought as the object, and specifically explore this ideological trend, including the following three specific themes: Heaven Command(天命) and Shang-di(上帝), Ximing(「西銘」), Li-Qi(理氣) and Shang-di. With these themes, tthis paper examines the religious spirit of Confucianism deepened by the influence of Catholicism from his works and thoughts.
