Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the effects of gender role identity on career exploration in male and female students with disabilities. The subjects were 210 disabled male and female students in three universities and three high schools located at Gyeonggi-do, Chungcheongbuk-do, and Jeollanam-do in Korea. The students completed questionnaires on gender role identity and career exploration. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and three way ANOVA. Especially, during the ANOVA, the level of school, the level of disability, and the type of gender role identity are designated as independent variables and career exploration(intended-systematic exploration, environment exploration, and self-exploration) as dependent variables. The main results of this study were as follows. First, the main effect of gender role identity on intended-systematic exploration was only found for female students with disabilities. Second, while the interaction effect of school level and gender role identity on environment exploration was found for male students with disabilities, the main effects of school level and gender role identity was done for female students with disabilities. Finally, while the main effect of school level on self-exploration was only found for male students with disabilities, the main effects of school level and gender role identity were done for female students with disabilities.
