초록
“Bukroneungjeonji” and “Bukdoneungjeonji” are books compiled by Wie Changjo, a native of Hamheung, by compiling the history of Lee Seonggye and his four generations’ royal tombs, courts, and palaces in Hamgyeong-do. "Bukroneungjeonji" was compiled by Wie Changjo in 1747(the 23rd year of King Yeongjo), and the following year, it was enlargedly compiled as "Bukdoneungjeonji" in 1758(the 34th year of King Yeongjo). “Bukroneungjeonji” and “Bukdoneungjeonji” are classified into a private compilation and state-led compilation, respectively, depending on the subject of compilation, but there is no significant difference in the basic composition, contents, and main cited materials. However, while “Bukroneungjeonji” consists of two volumes, one book, and 8 legends, “Bukdoneungjeonji” consists of eight volumes, three books, and 17 legends and the number of appendices and historic sites included has increased. Compared to “Bukroneungjeonji”, the legend, appendix, and historic site of “Bukdoneungjeonji” have not only increased quantitatively, but also detailed in terms of citation records and annotations, which confirm the supplemented aspect in the book. The newly included appendix in “Bukdoneungjeonji” is an important record related to King Taejo and his ancestors, and the historic sites are also meaningful places in relation to founding of Joseon. Therefore, it can be seen that the discovery and recording of more in “Bukdoneungjeonji” reflects King Yeongjo's interest in Hamgyeong-do, which ordered the supplementary compilation. In addition, since “Bukdoneungjeonji” was compiled by the king's order, the elevated status of the book can be confirmed, and the preface of the book replaced by Yeongjo's writing proves this. Additionally, “Bukdoneungjeonji” was published in woodblock prints, unlike “Bukroneungjeonji” produced in manuscripts. This makes it possible to mass-produce books and increases the possibility of future use. In this thesis the significance of the compilation of “Bukdoneungjeonji” was confirmed by dividing it into three perspectives as follows. First, the compilation of “Bukdoneungjeonji” is to highlight the symbolism of the royal foundation, and it stems from the pride of Wie Changjo from this region. Second, the compilation of “Bukdoneungjeonji” was a means to support and promote the legitimacy of King Yeongjo. Third, the compilation of “Bukdoneungjeonji” is a organization of the royal history of Hamgyeong-do, which is scattered in various places by Wie Changjo, and has been used in various fields since then.
