단군신화의 제석과 불교의 제석천의 연관성 연구

우리민족 최초의 건국신화인 단군신화는 승려인 일연(一然)에 의해 저술되었다. 그런 이유에서 단군신화는 불교적 색채가 가미되었다는 평가를 받고 있다. 하지만 서사적 내용에서 그러한 모습을 쉽게 찾아보기는 힘드나 ‘제석’ 등의 명칭 사용으로 인해 많은 논란이 되어 오고 있다. ‘제석’이라는 명칭은 분명 불교의 ‘제석천(인드라)’에서 받아들여진 것은 맞을 것이다. 그러나 단군신화, 무가(巫歌) 등의 구비문학에서 확인되는 ‘제석’은 전혀 불교적이지 않다. 또한 단군신화의 ‘제석’은 불교의 제석천과는 다른 양상을 보이고 있다. 해서 본고에서는 역사서, 구비문학적 자료와 인도의 제석천 신화를 비교하여 단군신화에 기록된 ‘제석’이 불교적 색채를 입은 것이 아니라 단순히 명칭의 차용 혹은 발음상의 유사성(혹은 동음)으로 인해 적혀졌을 수도 있다는 논의를 제시하였다.
Abstract
The foundation myth of our nation’s first is the “Dan-gun Myth”. This was written by monk “Il-yeon”. For this reason, “Dan-gun Myth” has been evaluated that the Buddhist. The contents do not look like that. But It has been a lot of discussion by using the name “je-seok”. “Je-seok” is clearly came from Buddhism. But “Je-seok” that appeared the use oral-literature is not a Buddhist. and “Je-seok”in “Dan-gun Myth” is different from Buddhism. This Study focuses is to imply that the word “je-seok(Indra)”(written on the 『단군신화』) is not, affected by buddhism. Je-sek is simply borrowing or simirality of pronunciation. Research options include a history book, oral literature, and compared.
