As influential factors, this study focuses on socio-demographic characteristics, residential characteristics, neighborhood attachment, organizational climate. In order to neighborhood effect, in addition, it uses neighborhood socioeconomic status based on the rate of minimum living expenses recipient families in a neighborhood. The hierarchical generalized linear model as well as hierarchical linear model were applied to 3,177 questionnaire data collected from 52 neighborhoods in Daejeon Metropolitan City. The result identifies gender, age, educational level, marital status, children, cognitive and behavioral neighborhood attachment as statistically significant influential factors for membership. But for the level of participation, only cognitive, and behavioral neighborhood attachments, and organizational leadership have statistically significant influence. The level of participation appears to have statistically significant effect on resident's collective efficacy. It also identifies a neighborhood socioeconomic status effect on collective efficacy.
