초록

최근 거버넌스의 수렴·확산에도 불구하고 국내외를 막론하고 이에 관한 연구는 활성화되어 있지 않다. 본 논문은 거버넌스가 경제성장에 미치는 영향에 관해 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 139개 국가와 이들 국가들을 경제규모별로 나누어 국민경제와 공공부문경제에 미치는 영향을 패널 분석하였다. 분석결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 시민참여(VA)가 증대될수록 국민경제와 공공부문경제에 긍정적으로 작용한다. 경제규모별로는 High income 국가들과 Lower income국가들이 긍정적으로 작용하고 있다. 둘째, 정치적 안정성(PV)이 증대될수록 국민경제에 긍정적 요인으로 작용하고 있다. 셋째, 정부효과성(GE)이 증대될수록 국민경제와 공공부문경제에 긍정적으로 작용하며, 경제규모별로는 High income국가들과 Lower middle income국가들이 긍정적으로 작용하고 있다. 넷째, 규제의 질(RQ)이 증대될수록 국민경제에 긍정적으로 작용하였고, 경제규모별로는 Lower middle income국가들이 긍정적으로 작용하고 있다. 다섯째, 법치주의(RL)는 통계적으로 유의미하지 않다. 여섯째, 부패통제(CC)를 잘 할수록 공공부문경제에 긍정적으로 작용하였고, 경제규모별로는 High income국가들과 Upper middle income국가들이 국민경제와 공공부문경제에 긍정적으로 작용하고 있다.

Abstract

This study explores how governance influences economic growth. Employing panel data analysis, this study analyzes the relationship between governance and economic growth for over 139 countries. This study classifies the dependent variables as national economy and public sector economy. Analyses are broken down by income groups of nations they belong to. It is found that VA positively affects the growths of national economy and public sector economy, especially for the higher income and lower income countries, PV is positively affects the growths of national economy, GE positively affects the growths of national economy and public sector economy, especially for the higher income and lower middle income countries, RQ positively affects the growths of national economy, especially for the lower middle income countries. RL is not significantly related with the economic growth, and CC positively affects the growths of public sector economy, especially for the higher income and upper middle income countries with the growths of national economy and public sector economy.
