Recently, Korea has experienced a number of FTAs with other countries, including Chile, EFTA(European Free Trade Association), Singapore, ASEAN( Association of Southeast Asian Nations), and the U.S. In particular, the FTA with the U.S. is expected to cause a huge impact on the food market as well as the agricultural sector in Korea. Many researches have analyzed and discussed about the impact on the agricultural sector after the Korea-U.S. FTA, but a very small number of studies focus on the impact of the Korea-U.S. FTA on the food market. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the impact of the Korea-U.S. FTA on the Korean dairy market. For numerical simulations, this paper focuses on the impact on the cheese and butter markets. The results of numerical analysis in this paper will be helpful for future research since few, if any, studies conduct a numerical analysis to measure the impact of the Korea-U.S. FTA on the Korean food market.
