청소년의 폭력 빈도 변화의 잠재계층에 대한 준모수적 집단 중심 방법의 적용

초록

본 연구의 목적은 청소년의 폭력 빈도 변화 형태에 따른 잠재계층을 분류하고, 잠재계층 분류에 영향을 주는 생태체계적 요인들(성별, 자기통제력, 공격성, 부모애착, 자녀학대, 교사애착, 비행친구 수)을 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 한국청소년패널조사 중학교 2학년 패널 1∼5차년도 종단자료에 준모수적 집단 중심 방법(semi-parametric group-based approach)을 적용하였다. 준모수적 집단 중심 접근 방법 중에서 폭력 수는 빈도변수(count variable)이며 0빈도가 과다한 변수이므로 zero-inflated Poisson (ZIP) 모형을 적용하였다. 분석 결과 청소년의 폭력 빈도 변화 형태에 따라 3개의 잠재계층이 도출되었고, 그 형태에 따라 비폭력집단, 감소집단, 급감소집단으로 명명하였다. 다항 로짓분석으로 영향요인을 검증한 결과 성별, 자기통제력, 공격성, 자녀학대, 비행친구 수가 잠재계층을 결정하는 데 유의미한 변수로 나타났다. 본 연구는 생태체계적 변수들을 바탕으로 폭력 변화에 따른 잠재계층을 예측하고 적절한 대비책을 모색하는 데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다. 연구 방법론 측면에서는 변화 형태에 따라 잠재계층을 분류하고 독립변수들과 잠재계층의 관련성을 검증하는 최신 종단연구 방법을 적용하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

Abstract

The purposes of the present study were to identify subgroups (i.e., latent classes) which exist based the change patterns in violence frequency among adolescents and to test the effects of eco‐system variables(gender, self‐control, aggression, parent attachment, parental abuse, teacher attachment, and the number of delinquent friends) on determining latent classes. With these aims in mind, we applied Nagin's(1999) semi‐parametric group‐based approach to the Korean Youth Panel Survey. Because antisocial behaviors such as violence typically have excessive 0 frequencies, a zero‐inflated Poisson model was used. Our results indicated that three latent classes could be identified, which, in turn, could be defined based on the patterns as follows; a non‐violence group, a decreasing group, and a suddenly decreasing group. By adding the variables of gender, self‐control, aggression, parent attachment, parental abuse, teacher attachment, and the number of delinquent friends to the unconditional latent class model, we tested the effects of the variables on the latent classes. Multinomial logit analysis indicated that gender, self‐control, aggression, parental abuse, and the number of delinquent friends were significant determinants of the latent classes. The findings from this study suggest the need to consider heterogeneity in the study of adolescents' violence to facilitate more refined targeting of intervention programs.
