Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the influence of beauty healthcare behaviors on appearance satisfaction and psychological well-being among male office workers in their 20s and 30s. An online survey was conducted from April 18 to May 20, 2025, with 330 questionnaires distributed. After excluding poor responses, 301 valid samples were analyzed. Frequency analysis, chi-square tests, one-way ANOVA, t-tests, and correlation analyses were employed. The results are as follows: First, beauty healthcare practices among male office workers in their 20s and 30s showed significant differences by occupation, with those in sales/service and self-employed sectors demonstrating relatively more active engagement. Second, skincare management behaviors, as a subcategory of beauty healthcare, did not have a statistically significant effect on appearance satisfaction and psychological well-being. However, health management behaviors and cosmetic use behaviors showed statistically significant effects on both, with higher engagement associated with greater satisfaction and well-being. These findings suggest that beauty healthcare behaviors among male office workers in their 20s and 30s extend beyond simple external grooming, serving as an important means of fulfilling psychological needs and self-management. Therefore, it is necessary to foster a stronger market foundation and develop diverse programs that promote sustained interest and correct perceptions of beauty healthcare among men.
