초록

Pontine tegmental infarction including the trigeminal tract, the medial lemniscus and the spinothalamic tract frequently produces diverse sensory dysfunction. However, isolated hypesthesia restricted to some parts of trigeminal sensory dermatomes is rare. We experienced a case presented with impairment of pain and thermal sense over the right ophthalmic (V1) and maxillary (V2) nerve distribution. Brain MRI showed a tiny infarct in the right dorsolateral midpontine involving the descending trigeminal tract carrying fibres subserving pain and temperature sensation. As yet it has not been well recognized, the segmental trigeminal sensory impairment may explained by the somatotropic arrangement of trigeminal subdivisions in a ventral to dorsal direction.
