A Social Network Analysis Study on Vocational Rehabilitation Networks for Community Rehabilitation Centers

Vocational rehabilitation network on community rehabilitation centers passed early stage and is entering to diffusion phase. However, researchers found that the lack of awareness for vocational rehabilitation networks, the deficiency of crucial infrastructure, financial vulnerability, and the deficiency of control system were barriers for developing successful and effective network. Hence, in order to improve the network system, the strategic and specific transformation must be achieved. From July to December 2010, researchers reviewed journals in connection with vocational rehabilitation networks, surveyed vocational rehabilitation counselors, and analyzed vocational rehabilitation network on community rehabilitation centers. Specific practice and policy direction for vocational rehabilitation network were derived from these results. These results suggest that improvement of psychological distance among community rehabilitation centers, development of substantial network, and open-minded approach were crucial issues for developing successful network in case of Seoul. On the other hand, it was suggested that overcoming of physical distance, development of lead agency, and systematization of network were fundamental strategies for developing effective network in in Kyung-sang province.
