진로장벽(career barriers)은 장애인의 진로선택 및 진로행동에 영향을 미치는 내적, 심리적 요인과 외적, 환경적 요인을 포괄적으로 설명해줄 수 있는 개념으로 최근 들어서 주목받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 우리나라 장애대학생이 지각하고 있는 진로장벽을 연구하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서 설정한 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 우리나라 장애 대학생이 지각한 진로장벽에는 어떠한 것들이 있는가? 둘째, 우리나라 장애 대학생이 지각한 진로장벽의 요인구조는 어떠한가?본 연구에서는 우리 사회에서 지각되고 있는 진로장벽을 여러 방법을 통해 추출하고, 이를 토대로 진로장벽검사를 개발하였다. 그리고 장애대학생을 대상으로 진로장벽검사를 실시하고, 요인 분석한 결과 여섯 개의 진로장벽 요인으로 구성된 25문항의 진로장벽검사가 확정되었다. 장애대학생이 지각하는 진로장벽을 요인 분석한 결과 여섯 개의 하위요인- 장애관련 요인, 자기 명확성 부족, 경제적 어려움, 진로정보 부족과 미래 불안, 중요한 타인과의 갈등, 나이 문제 - 이 추출되었다. 본 연구에서는 진로선택 및 진로 결정과정에서 개인이 지각하는 개인, 심리적 요인들 외에 외적, 환경적 요인의 중요성에 주목하였으며, 장애 대학생의 진로목표 실현을 방해할 수 있는 진로장벽의 내용과 요인구조를 확인하였다는데 연구의 의의가 있다. 그리고 장애 대학생이 지각하는 진로장벽의 내용을 면담, 설문, 문헌 조사 등을 통해 추출하고 이를 검사로 개발함으로써, 진로상담과정에 유용하게 활용 될 수 있는 검사가 개발되었다는데 그 의의가 있다. 본 연구에서 추출한 진로장벽 항목과 진로장벽 검사문항들은 실제 상담과정에서 장애 대학생 내담자들이 지각하는 진로장벽을 효율적으로 파악할 수 있는 목록으로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
The construct of career barriers is a concept to provide a comprehensive explanation on psychological and environmental factors. this research aimed at studying the career barriers perceived by college student with disabilities in Korea. The research also aimed at developing a Career Barriers Inventory, which can be used in career counseling, based on data collected. Two questions to be asked through this research were; first, what are career barriers perceived by college students with disabilities?; second, what are the factor structure of career barriers perceived by college students with disabilities?The ultimate version of Career Barriers Inventory with 25 questions(5 point Likert scale) were developed and tested. First, many career barriers items identified by college students with disabilities through interviews and surveys reflects Korean society's cultural characteristics. The Career Barriers Inventory with 25 items were developed. 6 factors have been extracted from the factor analysis of Career Barriers Inventory, which are consists of 1) Disabilities related barriers, 2)Lack of Self Definiteness, 3) Lack of Career Information and Uneasiness of Future, 4) Financial Difficulties, 5) Conflict with Significant Others, and 6) Age Barriers. The factor structure is well reflected characteristics of career barriers perceived by Korean college students with disabilities. The significance of this research lies on the fact that factor structure and contents of career barriers perceived by college students with disabilities were studied and characterized. Development of Career Barriers Inventory which can be used in the counseling process, through an evaluation of collected data of perceived career barriers via interviews and surveys, adds to achievements of this research.
