Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to verify the dual mediating effect of economic difficulties and positive interpersonal relationships between the effects of COVID-19 vulnerability perceived by people with disabilities on their self0rated health. Method: The 6th data(2021) of the 2nd Wave in the Panel survey of Employment for the Disabled was used, and a total of 3,848 people with disabilities who participated in the 6th survey were targeted. Using SPSS Statistics and Amos, analysis was conducted correlation, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation model. Results: All direct pathways from the COVID-19 vulnerability perceived by people with disabilities to self-rated health, economic difficulties, and positive interpersonal relationships were significant. And both the mediating effect and the double mediating effect of economic difficulties and positive interpersonal relationships were both significant between COVID-19 vulnerability and self-rated health. The higher the vulnerability of COVID-19, the greater the negative impact on the subjective health of the disabled, and economic difficulties aggravate the negative impact, but the positive interpersonal relationship was found to be a factor in reducing the negative impact. Conclusion: Based on these results, policy and practical implications for improving the self-rated health of people with disabilities were derived in a situation where COVID-19 has not ended.
