종말론은 성령론과 더불어서 이단 사이비들이 많은 혼란을 야기시켜 온 분야중 하나이다. 새 하늘과 새 땅이라는 주제는 신천지 이단에 의해서 왜곡되고 있다. 이런 시점에서 본 주제에 대해서 말하고 있는 본문(계 21:1-8)에 대해서 개혁주의적 이해를 가지는 것은 대단히 적실하다고 생각된다. 본고에서 논자는 우선적으로 관련된 신학적인 두 가지 주제들에 대해서 숙고해 보았다. 2절에서는 신자들의 중간기거처와 궁극적인 거주지 문제에 대해서 살펴보고, 3절에서는 첫 창조와 재 창조 사이의 관계를 세계파괴설과 만유갱신설의 관점에서 살펴보았다. 이러한 숙고 작업들은 해당 본문과 관련된 신학적인 논쟁점들을 먼저 정리하기 위해서 필요한 것이다. 논문의 4절에서는 논자가 실제적인 목회현장에서 전거본문(계 21:1-8)에 대하여 어떻게 강해했는지를 요약적으로 제시해 보았다. 이렇게 하는 이유는 논자의 입장이 표준적이기 때문이 아니라, 실제로 이런 본문들을 개혁주의적인 신학의 기초위에서 어떻게 회중들에게 전달해야 하는지를 예시적으로 보여주기 위해서이다. 이러한 논의 결과가 신학도들 뿐 아니라 목회자들에게 건전한 종말론을 제시하는데 도움이 될수 있기를 바란다.
Abstract
Along with Pneumatology, Eschatology is one of the subjects from which variegated heresies and pseudo-religions have been produced and which in turn led to great confusion. Especially the subject of "the New Heaven and New Earth" has been perversely distorted in Korea by the heresy called 'Shincheonji.' In this confusing situation, I think it is very relevant to examine the text (Rev. 21:1-8) that speaks on the subject. In the first two sections of this paper, I discussed two theological themes thoroughly. In the second section, I examined the intermediate dwelling-places and the final dwelling-places; and in the third section, I examined the relationship between the first creation and second creation from the viewpoint of the annihilationism and the renewal of everything (apokatasis ton panton). Such theological considerations are necessary to understand the biblical text rightly. At last, in the fifth section, I presented the summary of two sermons on Rev. 21:1-8 that I preached in the churches and published as an Exposition on Revelation. I did it as an example of how to preach on the text or on the subject of New Heaven and New Earth from the Reformed Eschatological viewpoint.
