본 논문은 성화에서 그리스도의 충만이 갖는 의미에 대해 존 머레이의 관점을 중심으로 고찰하였다. 그리스도의 충만은 성화를 그리스도와의 연합의 관점에서 파악할 때 중요하게 드러나는 개념이다. 신자의 성화는 그리스도가 가진 충만이 성령에 의해 신자에게 분여됨으로써 이루어진다. 머레이는 이러한 종류의 그리스도의 충만을 영원한 성자로서 갖는 존재론적 신성의 충만이 아니라 메시아로서 갖게 된 경륜적 충만으로 이해한다. 신자들은 예수 그리스도의 메시아적 정체성에 따른 충만을 전달받는다. 성화를 그리스도의 충만의 분여 과정으로 보는 이 관점은 우리에게 몇 가지 시사점을 준다. 첫째, 성화의 주체가 하나님임을 명확하게 한다. 둘째, 그리스도와의 연합을 중요하게 여기도록 한다. 셋째, 예수 그리스도의 구속적 중보적 정체성에 주목하게 한다. 넷째, 성화를 위하여 은혜의 방편을 더욱 더 적극적으로 사용하도록 장려한다.
Abstract
This paper investigated the meaning of fullness of Christ in sanctification focusing on John Murray’s argument. Fullness of Christ is an important concept in understanding sanctification from the standpoint of union with Christ. Murray understands this kind of fullness of Christ as reflecting the fullness economic what Christ has acquired as his messianic identity, not the fullness ontological which belongs to Christ as the eternal Son. Believers are communicated the fullness as to the messianic identity of Christ. This perspective which regard sanctification as a process of impartation of the fullness of Christ gives us several implications. First, it makes clear that the subject of sanctification is only God. Second, it makes us consider union with Christ important. Third, it allows us to pay attention to redemptive and mediatorial identity of Christ. Fourth, it encourages us to use methods of grace more for sanctification.
