본 연구는 학교현장에서 학교폭력 예방과 문제해결 업무를 수행하기 위해서 학교 외부로부터 개입하고 있는 학교전담경찰관과 학교 내부에서 대응하고 있는 교사 간의 역할 분담과 충돌의 문제, 그리고 협력과 갈등의 관계를 조사하고 개선방안을 제시하고자 하는 목적을 가지고, 학교전담경찰관과 교사로 구성된 연구참여자들을 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하여 수집한 자료를 분석한 사례연구이다. 본 연구의 결과에 의하면, 학교현장에서 학교폭력 문제대응과 관련하여 학교전담경찰관과 교사 간의 역할경계가 명확한 영역에서는 상호 협력관계가 증진되는 반면에, 역할이 중첩되거나 역할경계가 낮은 영역에서는 역할충돌이 발생하면서 갈등관계로 발전되는 경향이 있었다. 따라서 본 연구는 학교폭력 문제의 해결에 직접적인 영향을 미칠 수 있는 학교전담경찰관과 교사 간의 관계에서 갈등관계를 최소화하고 협력관계를 제고시켜가기 위해서 학교현장에서 이들의 역할 영역을 명확하게 경계지어서 역할충돌의 여지를 제거해 가는 것이 필요하다는 점을 제시하고 있다.
Abstract
This paper aims to investigate the problems of assignment and clash of the role between school police officers and teachers who are responsible for school violence prevention and solving in the scenes of schools, and the issues of cooperation or conflict in their relations, and to propose the improvement measures. This paper analyzed case data collected by in-depth interview with research participants composed of school police officers and teachers. According the results of analysis of this case data, cooperation relations were enhanced in the area where the role boundaries of school police officers and teachers were clear, while conflict relations occurred in the area where their roles were overlapped and the boundaries were unclear. In order to minimize conflict relations and promote cooperative relations between school police officers and teachers who may have direct influence on the resolution of school violence, it is necessary to make clear the role boundaries between them and to eliminate their role clash in the scenes of schools.
