정체성을 중심으로 본 대학 신입생의 이야기치료 상담

이 연구는 대학에 입학하여 신입생 생활을 경험하고 있는 학생 3인을 대상으로 이야기 치료를 전개하고 이 과정에서의 정체감을 중심으로 탐구해내고자 한다. ‘내러티브적 전환’이 주요한 학문적 흐름으로 시작되었으며, 한국에서도 이야기 치료가 상담 및 심리 치료에서 그 활용도가 높아지고 있는 실정이다. 이야기 치료는 개인이 자신의 삶 속에서 경험하는 사건 속에서 나름대로의 방식으로 기술하고 해석하며 의미를 부여하여 삶과 그 경험에 대해 인식하는 접근이다. 연구 참여자들은 6주에 걸쳐 매주 2시간씩 이야기 치료에 참가하였으며, 이 과정에서 자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. 본 연구는 참여관찰과 이 과정에서 나온 자료들을 중심으로 이루어졌다. 연구 결과, 대학 신입생들이 이야기 치료를 통해 자신이 어디로부터 와서 현재 무엇을 하고 있고 향후 어디로 가는지에 대한 정체감 형성의 경험을 한 것으로 보이며 이를 토대로 이야기 치료가 내담자의 정체성 재구성을 돕는다는 것을 확인해볼 수 있었다. 또한 대학 신입생들이 이야기 치료의 경험을 통해 신념, 책임감, 지향상태, 비젼, 꿈, 희망, 가치, 목적 의식, 의도, 계획, 삶의 방식이나 대안적 이야기의 가능성과 삶의 확장을 보여주었다.
Abstract
This case study investigated three students engaged at experiencing freshmen life focused the identity utilizing narrative therapy. The ‘narrative turn’ has become a main academic stream, narrative therapy has used as a approach to counseling and psychotherapy. In the narrative therapy, every life story of each person is taken and rediscovered by their work. Participants received narrative therapy for total 12 hours during 6 weeks and they participate 2 hours a week. Descriptive data were collected throughout the course of narrative therapy process. This was concerened how freshmen employed narratives to develop and sustain meaning making, the sense of personal unity and purpose from diverse experiences across their life. Results showed that freshmen experienced the formation of identity. Also they showed about belief of self, responsibility of life, orientation, vision, dream, value, consciousness of goal, intention, plan, life style, possibilities of alternative stories and expansion of their life.
