Goal orientation is one of motivations for achievement and will impact on organizational member's behavior and performance. This study investigates the effect of the goal orientation of the leader on the members' goal orientation in the vertical relationship between the leader and the members. In addition, this study also investigates the moderating effects of self-efficacy of leader and member. For examining hypotheses of this study, we conducted to survey the 261 employees in companies in Korea. According to the results of analysis, the goal orientation of the leader had a positive effect on the members' goal orientation. For moderating effect, member's self-efficacy had a moderating effect between leader's goal orientation and organizational member's goal orientation. However, leader's self-efficacy had not moderating effect between leader's goal orientation and organizational member's goal orientation. This study emphasizes the interaction between leader and members, and also emphasizes the importance of self - efficacy of members in the process of goal orientation.
