초록

The purpose of this study is to provide fundamental data on the causes of magnetic susceptibilityartifacts and reasonable prevention measures for researchers using MRI equipment through qualitative evaluation andliterature review. The study analyzed data from 32 subjects randomly selected from PACS-transmitted datasets and32 subjects from literature analysis. The equipment used for analysis included data from GE, Siemens, and Philipssystems. Pulse sequences examined were 2D TSE, 2D GE, and 3D TSE (GE). Statistical analysis involved qualitativeanalysis using a 5-point scale, with the Friedman test employed for statistical testing, followed by post-hoc analysisusing the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. Qualitative analysis revealed that for 1.5 Tesla and 3.0 Tesla systems, when thequality of images (GE 3D, TSE 2D, GE 2D) was analyzed using the 5-point scale, magnetic susceptibility was foundto increase with higher magnetic field strength (p<0.05). Additionally, the magnetic susceptibility of pulse sequencesfor 1.5T and 3.0T systems increased in the following order: TSE → SE → GE → 3D GE (p<0.05). In conclusion, higher magnetic field strength is associated with increased magnetic susceptibility. Among the pulse sequences, the order of magnetic susceptibility was 3D TSE (GE) → TSE → SE → GE. These findings are expected to serve asfundamental clinical data for future examinations.
