본 연구에서는 대도시의 도시철도 연장에 따른 주변 위성도시 시민들의 도시철도 전환수요를 분석하기 위해 대구광역시의 위성도시적 성격을 가지는 경산시를 사례지역으로 선정하여 경산시민들의 도시철도 연장 개통 전과 후의 교통수단의 변화를 분석하고자 하였다. 분석대상은 현재 도시철도를 이용하지 않는 경산시민들을 대상으로 하였으며, 통행목적에 따라 통근/비통근 통행으로 구분하였다. 통근통행은 거주지와 직장소재지, 비통근통행은 거주지와 가상목적지를 각각 출발지와 목적지로 설정한 후 경산시민들을 상대로 RP/SP 자료를 설문조사 형태로 수집하였다. 수집된 자료를 바탕으로 도시철도 연장에 따른 교통수단별 도시철도 전환율을 분석하고, 도시철도로의 전환여부에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하기 위해 로짓모형을 추정하였으며, 그 결과를 논의하였다. 아울러 분석결과의 정책적 시사점을 제시하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과 통근통행보다 비통근통행에서 전환율이 높게 나타났고, 통행목적별로 도시철도 전환여부에 영향을 미치는 변수가 다른 것으로 나타났다. 그럼에도 불구하고 통행시간 절약은 통근통행과 비통근통행 모두에서 도시철도 전환여부에 매우 중요한 영향을 미치는 요인으로 확인되었다.
Abstract
The main objective of this paper is to analyze the modal shift of satellite city residents due to the expansion of urban rail transit in a metropolitan area. The paper uses RP/SP data collected from Gyeongsan City, which is a satellite city of Daegu Metropolitan City. To date, limited research has been conducted, especially using before-and-after individual RP/SP travel survey, that analyze modal shift due to the introduction of new urban rail transit. For this research, descriptive statistical analyses are conducted. Empirical logit models are also estimated to analyze factors affecting the modal shift. Finally, significant findings and policy implications are discussed. From the descriptive statistical analyses, it is found that the rate of mode shift to rail transit for non-work travel is higher than that for work travel. Furthermore, from the empirical model estimation, it is found that there are substantial differences in the parameter estimates and their statistical significances between the models for work travel and non-work travel.
