外来語と日本語の住み分けについての一考察 -国立国語研究所(1965)「類義語の研究」を題材に-

Abstract

Many Loanwords investigation and study of Japanese are well known to the Japanese, supported by a lot of results of questionnaire Many Loanwords investigation and study of Japanese are well known to the Japanese, supported by a lot of results of questionnaire surveys. These questionnaire ask them to choose "Loanword" or "Japanese", considering which one is easy to understand. In 1965, NIJAL(National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics) published "A study of synonym" and in 2015, after 50 years of the publication, these days' flooding of Loanwords is worrisome. This report eliminates dichotomous decision whether the given words are Loanword or Japanese and then offers examples of Loanword and Japanese Synonym having different meanings, respectively. In the beginning, Loanword was intended to use as an alternative word of the existing Japanese synonym, though Loanword and Japanese synonym have a little bit different nuiance. However, as time goes by, Loanword has its original meaning, distinguished from the Japanese synonyms, and used in the various texts. In other words, many Loanwords have Japanese synonyms but have different meanings from the latter.
