오가와 요코(小川洋子)문학의 ‘가족’ 고찰

Abstract

Yoko Ogawa depicts entitled to the figure of the family in the novel. A couple of newlywed is the smallest unit of the family and a girl who lives with family have appeared well in the early works. The relationship of husband and wife in a honeymoon is supposed to be the most intimate, but keeping a distance. Despite they are in same space, they have no common point each other. The wife is fed up with her husband and the husband is indifferent to his wife. In the case of the other family, parents are interested only in other things and without taking care of their child. The environment of Ogawa’s early novel, there are some background that influenced her creation. Since the advent of the nuclear family, the collapse and the father of the loss of the mother of the modern family have been made. And its impact is appeared strongly in the works of Ogawa. The Konkokyo, one of Japanese religions that Ogawa is believe in, preaches that man has a original sadness called Genpi(原悲) in Japanese. Accordingly, writer have traced the sadness of the family. Around forty years old, the thinking to the family of Ogawa has been changed significantly. So Ogawa let the characters cuddled each other even strangers, have faithfully built plays a role of each of not aligned. They are forming family with strangers and seeking happiness. We can call it pseudo-family.
