日本語寮における韓国人学生の学習意識 - 日本人ルームメートの評価と合わせて -

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to utilize the survey results for individualized language acquisition in terms of each student’s ability and personality. The survey was on the students in the Keimyung University dormitories where Japanese, Chinese, English learners are separately placed. Study subjects are selected from the Japanese dormitory only, called JIKU, and are asked with questions regarding their motivation to enter JIKU, their aims and awareness as to Japanese learning. JIKU provides several dorm rooms, each of which consists of one Japanese-learning Korean student together with one Japanese- native student currently registered as an exchange student. Conclusions are as follows. First, the study subjects showed unusual characteristics such as performing casual or informal speeches that are not easily detected in class. Second, many expressions and gestures they learned in the dorm rooms of JIKU are not learnable at all in the customary settings such as in textbook or in conversations even with Japanesenative speakers simply because they don’t use such language in formal setting. At the present time when the number of Japanese learning students is decreasing, the search for meaningful reasons and needs to facilitate the institutions like JIKU is very important for expanding various possibilities of Japanese education.
