『고사기(古事記)』『일본서기(日本書紀)』에 나타난 ‘미소기(禊)’에 대한 고찰

Abstract

The differences in the process of formation of the Amaterasu-ōmikami, as the Supreme God of Japan, could be seen in the “Kojiki” and "Nihonshoki” and the main difference point is the action of ‘Misogi’. The most common explanation of the action of ‘Misogi’ is “to clear the disgraces by water. However, to clearly the meaning of ‘Misogi’ in “Kojiki” and “Nihonshoki”, first the tradition and transcription of ‘Misogi’ in “Kojiki” and "Nihonshoki” was done. In “Kojiki”, as well as in “Nihonshoki”, to describe the action of ‘Misogi’ ‘禊’, ‘禊祓·祓禊 words were used. To find the meaning of ‘祓’ in 禊祓·祓禊 word combinations, the comparison analysis of appearance, first, the ‘禊’and ‘祓’ character in “Kojiki” and “Nihonshoki” was done. As the result it could be said that ‘禊’ character was used to describe the clearing of the disgrace and ‘祓’ character was used in the meaning of atoning for the sin. Than, the meaning of ‘禊’and ‘祓’ character in 禊祓·祓禊 word combinations was researched. ‘禊祓·祓禊’ are used not only to expres the action of ‘Misogi’ as just simple clearing of the disgrace, but clearing of the sin that braked taboos.
