Abstract
For the Japan, as the island country, Sea is not only the usual daily life measure, but the measure of fear as well. Looking at the motives of the Myths in "Kojiki" and "Nihon shoki" that relatedto existence of Amaterasu and gods descents, the world on heavens i.e., theTakamanohara is coming to the mind. In spite of this, it could be says that Seawas the Form from which our Word has been begun, according to the myth of"Kojiki" and "Nihon shoki". Moreover, the various traditions has the direct relationsto the Sea or Sea background. As a result of investigating the traditions relevantto the Sea in "Kojiki" and "Nihon shoki" could be mentioned that in both Myththe heaven God’s aspect is rearly strong, but on this base a lot of traditions havedeep relation the Sea. Especially, the Sea image changes could seen from the imageof beginning of life creation in the Sea. The image of tradition where the powerof the Sea and Heaven combined together could seen in "Kojiki" and "Nihon shoki"in "Yamasachi-Umisachi" image. The image of "Yamasachi-Umisachi" described in"Kojiki" and "Nihon shoki" is almost similar in both texts and it is really interestingand rare case, because other Myths in "Kojiki" and "Nihon shoki" have manydifferences in the plot. From the close investigation of the "Yamasachi-Umisachi"plot could be mentioned that situations when the Sea cooperate together with heavensappears often, rather han confrontation of heavens and the sea. Probably, this is an image of the sea which "Kojiki" and "Nihon shoki" triedto draw in common.
