江戸時代の日韓対訳資料と現代の翻訳システムについて
A Study on Japanese-Korean translation textbooks in the Edo period and modern translation systems

업무 능력을 향상시키기 위한 방편으로 외국어 학습은 필수 불가결한 요소 중 하나이다. 본 연구는 에도시대 『交隣須知』『隣語大方』등 일본에서 편찬된 한일 대역 교과서와 『첩해신어』『왜어유해』『이로하』『인어대방』등 한국에서 편찬된 일본어 자료 중 『交隣須知』『첩해신어』를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 또한 선린우호, 성신외교, 상대존중이라는 외교사상으로 일본과 조선의 우호친선에 가교 역할을 담당하였고 『交隣須知』의 편찬자이기도 한 아메모리 호슈의 학문 세계와 생애, 외교 및 학문 사상, 조선통신사와 파견 시의 역할 등에 대하여 알아보았다. 조선시대에는 위에서 살펴본 한일대역자료를 통하여 일본어, 한국어 학습 및 번역이 이루어졌으나, 현재는 네이버 파파고, 구글 번역 등 기계 번역을 통하여 이루어지고 있다. 주된 기계 번역의 종류를 살펴보고, 그 사용실태를 일본어를 전공하는 대학생의 설문 조사를 통하여 조사해 보았다. 응답자 전원이 기계 번역을 사용하고 있고, 휴대폰에 앱을 설치하고 있는 응답자도 90%가 넘고 있는데, 이는 사전 대용이라는 인식을 가지고 있기 때문으로 생각된다. 그러나 이러한 기계 번역이 컴퓨터의 발전과 스마트폰의 개발로 많은 발전을 이루기는 하였으나 전문적인 번역시스템으로서는 기능이 미흡하게 느껴진다. AI에 의한, 대량의 데이터량이 축적된 통계 기반의 기계 번역으로 획기적인 발전이 하루빨리 이루어지기를 바라는 바이다.
Abstract
Foreign language learning is one of the essential elements as a way to improve work skills. This study focused on "Korinsuchi" and "Ringotaiho" written in Korea, such as "Chophaesio," "Weoruhe" "Iroha," and "Inodebang," which were written in Japan during the Edo period. Additionally, the academic world, life, diplomacy, and academic thought of Amenomori Hoshu, who was also the editor of "Korinsuchi", played to the friendship between Japan and Joseon with diplomatic ideas of friendship and relative respect During the Joseon Dynasty, Japanese and Korean language learning and translation were conducted through the above-mentioned books, but now it is conducted through machine translation such as Naver Papago and Google translation. And the usage status was investigated through a survey of college students majoring in Japanese. All of the respondents use machine translation, and more than 90% of the students are installing apps on their phones. However, although such machine translation has made a lot of progress due to the development of computers and smartphones, it seems to be insufficient as a professional translation system. It is hoped that breakthrough development will be made as soon as possible with statistical-based machine translation in which large amounts of data rings are accumulated by AI.
