국내 미술관교육 연구 현황 및 동향 탐색

서구 선진국의 미술관교육의 역사에 비해 그리 오래되지 않은 한국의 미술관교육의 발전적방향 모색을 위해 독특한 맥락과 상황에서 그간의 연구 동향을 탐색해야 할 시점이다. 이 연구는 국내 미술관교육관련 연구 동향을 조사하여 다음과 같은 시사점을 제공한다. 첫째, 국내에서 이루어지는 미술관교육 연구 동향들은 최근 창의적 인재 양성을 위한 국가 발전의 화두로서 추진되는 문화예술교육정책에 밀접한 영향을 받는 것을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 미술관교육관련 학위논문 수가 증가한 것은 교육대학원이 증설되고, 대학원에 미술관/박물관 관련 학과들이 생겨난 이유라고 할 수 있으며 교육과정의 개편에 따른 영향이 크다. 셋째, 학위논문에비해서 학술지 논문이 좀 더 개선방안이나 감상교육에 관한 연구가 꾸준히 이루어지고 있었다는 것은 미술관 교육에 대한 중요성과 인식이 정부의 정책적 이유에만 있는 것이 아니라, 실제적으로 국민들과 교육자들의 자발적인 노력이 있어왔다는 점이다. 넷째, 미술관교육의 기능에 대한 관점이 추출된 연구 논문 주제어 검색별 연구 분포 수를 통해 다소 협소하다는 것을 알 수 있다. 학교교육과 연계하거나 학생들과 일반인들을 대상으로 한정짓는 연구들만이아니라 사회배려대상자들, 장애인, 노인 등 교육대상자 중 문화 소외계층을 아우르는 폭 넓은대상을 위한 미술관 교육에 대한 연구들이 필요하다. 마지막으로 국내의 미술관 교육 연구동향 고찰은 미술관 교육이 기존의 미학적 입장과 교육적 입장을 너머서는 문화의 긍정적인 변화의 촉매로서 관람객의 흥미, 태도, 인식 등이 문화적 차원에서 이루어져야 함을 시사한다.
Abstract
Comparing the history of the study of art museum education in Western countries, Korea has a short history of the study. Nonetheless, Korean art museums has made an effort to develop educational veneer according to their unique circumstances in the specific situations. In the present state, it is a appropriate time to review the historical trend of the study related to art museum education. This article investigates how the study of art museum education have conducted in Korean in order to find a developing direction toward art museum education. As a result of the review, there are three implications for a fundamental data for the direction. First, the recent trend of the study is related to the governmental policies promoting culture and arts education for cultivating creative human resources. Second, the creasing number of the study is influenced by the establishment of graduate school of education and the major of art museum education. Third, the sustaining increase of the study results from people’s own initiatives as well as the governmental policies. Forth, the study subject areas are narrow through the key words of the theses and the academic articles. Finally, the most important implication is that the study of art museum education should be conducted in terms of the cultural for promoting the positive changes of all visitors’ attitudes, interests and awareness of the role of art museums, as well as in the light of aesthetics and education.
