This research aims to illustrate the polysemy of ‘-i’, the nominal suffix by applying the theory of generative lexicon. It is a ‘logical polysemy’ that the contextual meaning of ‘X’, which is the head of ‘XP’ in sentence structure, is naturally determined by supplementary phrases. This paper, on the premise that the logical polysemy in sentence structures can be found in morphology, presents the meanings of derivatives that comprise suffix ‘-i’ via lexical concept structure. From this point of view, it primarily introduces the lexical concept structure of nominal suffix ‘-i’ and its preceding phrases on the basis of the definitions of a dictionary. It also lists the derivational nouns with ‘-i’ in lexical concept structure which can be construed differently by employing diverse generative lexicon such as the dotted type, co=composition and lexical inheritance structure. This approach highlights the feature that lexical concept structure of derivatives built on that of suffix ‘-i’ not only demonstrates that adding the suffix ‘-i’ to precedent phrases evidently generates its polysemy but provides intuitive analysis to identify the appropriate meaning of combined suffix with phrases of the similar lexicon concept structure.
