발달지체 유아들의 사회적 기술 결함은 사회성 발달을 저해하는 것에 그치지 않고 성격형성에 보다 포괄적으로 영향을 미쳐, 유아기에 반드시 개입해야 할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 발달지체 유아들의 사회적 기술 향상을 위해 극놀이를 적용하고 그 효과를 알아보았다. 극놀이는 다양한 역할을 통하여 다른 사람과 협력하고 자기생각을 주장하며 스스로를 통제할 수 있는 능력이 요구되는 매우 중요한 매개체이다. 본 연구에서는 Gresham과 Elliott(1990)의 사회적기술평정척도에 근거하여 사회적 기술을 협력과 자기주장 그리고 자아통제로 나누고 각각의 변화를 살펴보았다. 적용된 연구 설계는 반전설계이며, 극놀이 구성원은 발달지체유아 2명과 또래 유아 1명으로 하였다. 계획과 놀이 그리고 평가 단계로 구성된 극놀이는 유아의 수준에 맞게 6가지를 결정하여 놓고, 연구 참여 유아들의 생각에 따라 각 회기의 놀이를 결정하였다. 연구 결과, 사회극놀이가 발달지체 유아의 협력기술과 자기주장 기술 그리고 자아통제 기술 향상에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 사회극놀이는 발달지체 유아의 사회적 기술 향상에 효과적이라고 할 수 있다. 연구 대상과 사회극놀이 프로그램 그리고 연구 설계를 중심으로 후속연구를 위한 제안점이 논의되었다.
Abstract
This study looked into the effect of small group social drama play on the cooperation, self-assertion, and self-controll skills, which are the sub-areas of social skills. For this, the study selected 2 children with developmental delays, in preschool exclusively in the charge of G daycare center for children with disabilities located in B District, Daegu, and 1 peer child, as research subjects through a pre-observation and an interview with a homeroom teacher, and had them participate in small group social drama play. In order to discover the society index of children, the study conducted a social maturity test and a developmental test of PEP-R before the research. For the observation of social skills, the study was based on observation criteria partly excerpted from the sub-area of the social skills area in the social skills rating system by Gresham and Elliott(1990), designated behaviors the researcher intended to observe by classifying them as 4 observation items of cooperation, 2 observation items of self-assertion, and 4 observation items of self-control, and modified and complemented them partly suited to this research. The study used the ABAB reversal design, and the small group social drama play activity lasted for 6 weeks. The activity was performed 3 ~ 4 times a week, totaling 21 sessions. During the intervention period through social drama play, the study observed the occurrence rate of social skills, analyzed them by session, and graphed them. As a result, the occurrence rate of cooperative skills, self-assertion skills, and self-controlling skills, which are sub-areas of social skills of children with developmental delays has increased. When summarizing the above results, the intervention of small group social drama play may be effective for enhancing social skills of children with developmental delays and of peers. Therefore, concerning the utilization of active social drama play by teachers, it would be necessary to seek methods to utilize the play as an effective intervention program for improving the social skills of children with developmental delays during activities with peers.
