의미 확장 원리에 기반한 한국어 공간형용사의 의미 확장 유형 분포 양상 연구

본 연구는 한국어 공간형용사의 의미 확장의 경향성을 모색해 보기 위하여 기존의 연구에서 제시한 의미 확장 원리에 기반하여 의미 확장 분류 기준을 정립하고, 의미 확장 유형의 분포 양상을 고찰하였다. 분석 결과, 거시적 측면에서 한국어 공간형용사의 확장 의미의 분포는 불균형적인 양상을 보이고 있었으며 특정된 유형에 집중적으로 분포되어 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 미시적 측면에서 보면 한국어 공간형용사는 추상 영역 중 非시간 영역으로 의미가 가장 많이 분포되어 있었으며 특히 ‘유/무형물->非시간 영역’ 유형에 확장 의미가 압도적으로 많이 분포되어 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 ‘유/무형물->非시간 영역’ 유형에 속하는 공간형용사의 의미 분포율을 살펴본 결과 인간적 영역과 非인간적 영역의 의미 분포율이 같게 나타났고, 인간의 내재적 영역이 인간의 외재적 영역보다 분포율이 더 높았으며 인간의 내재적 영역과 非인간적 영역의 분포율은 큰 차이를 보이지 않는다는 것을 파악할 수 있었다.
Abstract
In order to explore the tendency that the meaning extension of Korean spatial adjectives shows, this study established the meaning extension classification criteria based on the principles of meaning extension presented in the previous studies, and analyzed the distribution aspects of meaning expansion types. The analysis confirmed that the distribution of the extended meaning of Korean spatial adjectives was disproportionate in terms of macroscopic aspects and that it was concentrated on specific types. From a microscopic point of view, it can be seen that meanings of Korean spatial adjectives were the most distributed in the non-temporal space among abstract spaces. Especially, the extended meanings are overwhelmingly distributed in the types of ‘tangible/intangible->non -temporal space’. In addition, the analysis on the distribution of meanings of spatial adjectives belonging to the ‘tangible/intangible ->non-temporal space’ type revealed that the human space and non-human space had the same distribution rates and the distribution rate of human intrinsic space was higher than the human extrinsic space. The study also found no significant difference in the distribution rates of the intrinsic and non-human space.
