유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니가 지각한 우울과 불안 성향이 자녀 양육유형에 미치는 영향

초록

본 연구에서는 어머니의 자녀 양육태도에 영향을 미치는 우울 및 불안의 각 하위요인을 분석하고, 어머니의 양육태도에 따른 우울과 불안의 영향력을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니 645명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 연구방법으로는 빈도분석, t-test, 상관분석, 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구의 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 우울감이 높으면 통제적․적대적 양육태도를 나타내며, 우울감 수준이 낮으면 자율적․애정적 양육태도를 높게 나타냈다. 둘째, 어머니의 불안 수준이 높은 집단에서는 통제적․애정적․적대적 양육태도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 어머니의 우울과 불안의 하위변인 모두는 양육태도와 유의미한 상관관계를 나타냈다. 넷째, 어머니의 우울이 낮고 상태불안이 높을수록 자율적 양육태도가, 상태․특성불안이 높으면 통제적 양육태도가 높아지며, 우울과 특성불안이 높을수록 적대적 양육태도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 통해 어머니의 심리적 어려움이 양육태도에 미치는 경로과정을 이해하고 어머니의 우울과 불안을 감소시키기 위한 부모교육 프로그램 개발의 기초자료를 제공할 수 있다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the subfactors of depression and anxiety, which affect maternal attitude, and the influence of the two variables on maternal attitude. The subjects in this study were 645 selected mothers whose children were in early childhood. A survey was conducted, and frequency analysis, t-test, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were carried out. The major findings of the study were as follows: First, controlling and hostile maternal attitudes were dominant in the group who suffered from severer depression, and autonomous and affectionate attitudes were common in the group with less depression. Second, controlling, affectionate and hostile attitudes were prevaling in the group whose anxiety was more serious. Third, every subfactor of the depression and anxiety of the mothers were significantly correlated with their paternal attitudes. Fourth, less depression and more state anxiety led to more autonomous maternal attitude, and more state and trait anxiety was followed by more controlling attitude. Hostile attitude became stronger when there were more depression and more trait anxiety. The findings of the study are expected to lay the foundation for the development of parent education programs that are aimed at understanding the path that the psychological difficulties of mothers impact on their maternal attitude and at relieving their depression and anxiety.
