In the middle Korean language, the expression of hope appears in two ways: ‘식브다’ and ‘-지다’. ‘식브다’ also appears as ‘시프다’ and ‘싣브다’. ‘식브다(시프다/싣브다)’ appears after ‘-고져’ or ‘-ㄹ가’. On the other hand, ‘-지다’ appears after ‘-거/어-’ which is prefinal ending. The composition of ‘-거/어지-’ appears in two forms. In 라체, the composition of ‘-거/어지라’ appears. In 쇼셔체, the composition of ‘-거/어지다’ appears. Considering ‘--’, the component of relative honorification, it is a component of ‘-지()다’. If we look at ‘-거/어-’ as a tense related factor prefinal ending of ascertainment mood, ‘-거/어-’ forms the same structure as ‘-/더/리-’ shown in the indicative mood, retrospective mood, speculative mood.‘식브-’ is also associated with ‘-ㄴ/ㄹ가, which forms a formal questions. But the meaning of the question is not clear. ‘식브-’ reveals the expression of assumption, in which certain factors are given and the meaning of assurance is added rather than the meaning of a simple guess.
