초록
The study of rhymes in rap based on phonetics and phonology interface is growing. This study summarizes the findings of an investigation into patterns of slant rhymes in the English Raps database. This study suggests that similarity plays a fundamental role in slant rhyme formation. English rappers have psychoacoustic similarity (Steriade 2001a, b, 2003) when they compose rap rhymes. This paper explains two corresponding consonants in rhymes to be as similar as they can and the measure of similarity in segment features through rhymability.
Abstract
The study of rhymes in rap based on phonetics and phonology interface is growing. This study summarizes the findings of an investigation into patterns of slant rhymes in the English Raps database. This study suggests that similarity plays a fundamental role in slant rhyme formation. English rappers have psychoacoustic similarity (Steriade 2001a, b, 2003) when they compose rap rhymes. This paper explains two corresponding consonants in rhymes to be as similar as they can and the measure of similarity in segment features through rhymability.
