Abstract

This study analyzes effects of union and labor-management climate on employees' knowledge- sharing. Empirical analysis of this study is based on 320 firms included in the first round of Human Capital Corporate Panel conducted by Korea Institute for Vocational Education and Training. Union effects on knowledge sharing have been hypothesized following monopoly vs. voice effects propositions suggested by Freeman and Medoff(1984). Empirical results of this study show that cooperative labor management climate consistently has positive relationship with knowledge sharing while presence of union at the union has negatively associated with employees' participation in the knowledge management process. Moderating effects of labor-management climate on high performance work system and knowledge sharing were also positive.
