Abstract
Accumulating evidence finds the antecedents of abusive supervision are individual personality traits (i.e. sensitivity, friendliness, etc) and/or characteristics of each organization and supervisors its perception(i.e. fairness, instability in the workplace, etc). Supervisor's behaviors in an organization are a result of interaction with his/her subordinates, so the relational variables with members of the organization (i.e. conflict), and individual personality traits(i.e. narcissism) that are highly related to abusive supervision. But there are few studies on these topics. Therefore, this study examines the effects of subordinate’s narcissism on the supervisor’s conflict and abusive supervision and the role of supervisor’s narcissism. The findings showed that the narcissism of subordinates had a positive effect on the supervisor's abusive supervision. Conflict between the narcissism of subordinates and the abusive supervision showed a mediation effect. Finally, narcissism and conflict in subordinates had an interactional effect on the supervisors' narcissism. Based on these results, the discussions and limitations of this study are presented.
