Abstract
The present study examined the effect of work-life balance perception on job crafting behavior. Additionally, it were hypothesized that the relationship between work-life balance perception and job crafting behavior would be mediated by adaptive behavior. Based on related theory and literature review, hypotheses were developed and tested. Survey data were collected from a sample of 487 employees in domestic companies and analyzed. The questionnaires were divided into WLB perception, adaptive behavior, and job crafting. Job crafting contained four components that Tims, Bakker, and Derks (2012) developed: increasing structural job resource, increasing social job resource, increasing challenging job demand, and decreasing hindering job demand. According to statistical analysis, adaptive behavior mediated the relationship between WLB perception and job crafting. In other words, adaptive behavior mediated the relationship of WLB perception and increasing structural job resource, increasing social job resource, increasing challenging job demand, and decreasing hindering job demand. Based on the results of this study, implications, limitations and future work of this study were discussed.
