Abstract

This study explores the potential of AI-based multimedia learning materials in enhancing German vocabulary acquisition within the framework of Deutsch als Fremdsprache nach Englisch (DaFnE). A systematic classification of English-German word pairs was conducted into six categories based on their word formation patterns and lexical relationships. To this end, generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and Vrew were employed to automatically generate scripts and multimedia materials. This approach is designed to address the challenges instructors face in sourcing suitable supplementary materials while empowering them to create personalized resources tailored to their instructional goals and curriculum needs. The findings emphasize the potential of AI-assisted, multimedia-based instruction to enhance learner engagement and foster a more intuitive and effective approach to German vocabulary learning compared to conventional text-based methods.
