Abstract
When the culture is getting settled in a right place, it is possible to development continuously, to interchange and symbiosis with other cultures. In this regard, this article analyzes François Jullien’s De l’universel, de l’uniforme, du commun et du dialogue entre les cultures. In this book, Jullien grapples with the intellectual geography in the twenty first century known as the age of cultural diversity by fundamental doubt about “the universal” as a core guiding ideology of European philosophy. Furthermore, he proposes the glocally cultural dialogue as a theory of culture that is based on the public good which is seeking to make common world of the non-Western cultures that has been excluded by “the European-universal”. Finally, he sets up the notion of human, different from the traditional definition and discussion, as a “dialogic human”. Every culture has its own inherent value, and the total sum of this values is remained intact in the local cultures. For that reason, there should be no more deterritorialization of the local culture in the pretext as “the universal”. It is necessary to resist to the cultural unification-standardization to cultivate the glocal public good as the symbiosis between local and global in the age of uniformity by the control of digital technology and capital.
